Double Wolf Dare Week (DWDW) approaches thirty- years of being celebrated this February. It started out as helping the daughter of two teachers, Hailey Cobble. Now, DWDW has now evolved into helping a different charity each year.
As DWDW 2026 came to an end, the total amount of money raised was $200,011.60.
The founder of Infant Crisis Services, Miki Farris, was one of the first guest speakers at the final assembly.
Miki Farris found herself needing assistance as a new mom in 1984. She went on to found ICS to help other mothers. The organization has helped countless families over the years. ICS provides: diapers, bottles, formula and much more.
At Farris, Santa Fe alumni Chandler and her son Knox came to speak on their experience with the common thread- ReMerge. All three Edmond high schools donate a portion of their charity week total to the common thread. In October of 2012, her husband was killed by a drunk driver, which sent her on and off substances. With ReMerge, Chandler is now able to be at home full time with her one and a half year old daughter and one- month newborn.
During the assembly, this year’s Hall of Fame winner senior Kolby Watkins and Danny Robinson performed as Drake and Prince. Watkins sang “Best I Ever Had” by Drake, and Danny Robinson sang “Purple Rain” by Prince. Students in the crowd joined the performers by waving flashing lights, swaying and singing along.
During DWDW, Student Council (STUCO) members contribute a lot of their time to planning, decorating and much more.
“Over 200+ hours of planning and decorating and sleepless nights,” said senior STUCO member Jarell Hull.
Being on STUCO means you may have to make sacrifices to get the best results.
Hull stated his favorite part of DWDW is:
“Getting to meet new people and staying positive throughout the week because this is the week to show who you are and get out [of] your comfort zone and have fun with it.”
Although this year’s DWDW has come to an end, everyone who donated and performed made a difference in many families’ lives. DWDW is not just about spending money: it is about projecting kindness into the world and making fun memories with friends and family that could last a lifetime.
