Winter fashion changes every year with some things staying the same and some changing. Here are some of the fashion trends for 2025.

Denim on Denim– Recently, there has been a trend of people wearing denim on denim. Denim on denim is when you wear a denim top or jacket with denim bottoms, like a jean jacket and jeans, or a jean skirt. Most people try to match the denim since it keeps the outfit looking more complete, but you can pair the denim with any other color you want.

Overalls– Overalls are coming back, although they have been worn year-round, but it seems to have been a surge around festive time. They can be styled with a tank or tube top in the summer, but in the winter, people pair them with a basic long sleeve sweater, or a regular T- shirt. You can find a pair of overalls at stores like Free People, American Eagle, Levi´s’ and more. 

Carhartt jackets– Carhartt jackets, having been around for years, have recently started to trend again. Carhartt jackets are a warm and cute alternative to wearing a coat. They may not be as warm as a coat, but they can add a little comfort chic to your outfit. They come in many colors like brown, navy, gravel, black, and red, but the most commonly seen color is brown. Although you can get them from the Carhartt website, some people get them from thrift stores for cheaper. Most people choose to wear them with jeans or other kinds of streetwear. 

Fur hats– Over the last few years, fur hats have grown in popularity. Fur trapper hats and wide-brim fur hats are a fashion statement but also a way to stay warm. They can be worn with almost any outfit since they come in many different colors and styles.

Scarves– Since the weather has gotten colder, there has been an increase in the number of people wearing scarves. It doesn’t matter if it is a solid color, pattern, or multi-colored, students and influencers are wearing them. Even though this is not a new styling piece, it can be different to see in the younger crowd.

Though it may be hard to stay on top of new trends since there are new trends every day, these are some of the fashion trends happening this winter to make keeping up with some trends easier.
