With finals and AP testing coming soon, students may be looking for places to study. Here are the top five study places in OKC and Edmond.
Coffee Shops
A coffee shop is a great place to study. Places like Starbucks, Ellis Island and Summer Moon sell coffee and food, which will keep you up and motivated while studying. Personally, when I go to Starbucks, it can be loud from all of the machines going at once and doors opening and closing. So remember that Starbucks can be a busy and occasionally loud place, so bring a pair of headphones or a friend to help you focus better with the noise.
Scissortail Park
Despite being in the middle of downtown, you can pick any day of the week and go to the park to study. It may not be a study area that comes to mind, but there are many tables and grassy areas for you to go to. If you decide to go to the scissor trail, bring blankets, food, drinks and study materials, so you can have a picnic while studying. This is also a good opportunity because you can get some Vitamin D, and if you get bored, you can take a walk or stretch and go back to studying.
Boba shops
Boba shops are easily found all around OKC and in Edmond. Most boba shops have a comfy studying environment and it’s mostly quiet with a mellow vibe. Some boba shops that I would recommend are: Gong Cha, Teapioca Lounge, Taichi Bubble Tea, Feng Cha and Happy Lemon. The atmosphere of these shops are unrushed and calming. Most of us like to have a pick-me- up while studying, which makes these shops a perfect place to study and grab a drink.
Local libraries
The library is the perfect place to study as some have study booths and tables you could sit at to study, and they also have computers you could use for research and projects. Libraries are quiet and free of background noise, which is good for focus and getting work done as it’s more of a productive environment. You could even look for books on the topic you are studying for as libraries have a wide range of book options to choose from. If you don’t feel like going to a public library, the school library is open every day during 7th hour.
Empty classroom
If you are at school and need a place to study, ask one of your teachers if you could come in during a quiet class or after school. This option might be a little trickier to find or use, but you can still ask to see if it is available.
Barnes & Noble Cafe
As another option you can go to is the Barnes & Noble Cafe. Barnes & Noble has a comfy and homey vibe. If you get bored or start falling asleep, you can go browse through the books and maybe even pick up a new book.
Studying can be boring and tiring at times but if you find a fun, unique place to go to, you may enjoy it and like the topic you are studying.
