This review contains spoilers from “Scream 7.”
“Scream 7″ was released on Feb. 27 featuring original characters Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Stu Macher. This movie showed Sidney having a successful life after all of the murders throughout her childhood. Then all of a sudden Sidney’s daughter, Tatum Prescott, has a similar experience.
The movie starts with a couple, Scott and Madison, visiting Stu’s house, where Stu and Billy Loomis committed the original two murders in “Scream.” Madison had a strange feeling from the house, which was then justified when a new ghostface killer appears and kills them both before setting the house on fire.
After the murders of her friends and family in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, Sidney built her family in Pine Grove, Indiana. Being safe for over a decade, Sidney received a phone call from someone pretending to be Stu, attempting to haunt her for her past.
The ghostface killers were continuously tormenting Sidney with fake video calls informing her of her daughter’s whereabouts. This caused her fear mixed with anger, only wanting to protect her daughter from the inevitable.
My favorite part was when one of the fake ghostface that had been hired by one of the actual ghostface was fighting Sidney’s husband Mark in their front yard. The fake ends up rolling into the street and as they get up to run at Mark they get hit by a SUV, saving Mark.
My least favorite part was when one of the ghostfaces were killing the teenagers and they were in a pizza place/bar. The ghostface had taken one of the teens and killed them by putting their head through a standing up metal bar.
Slasher film “Scream 7,” is a horror and mystery film, where Sidney desperately tries to protect and save her family while having to watch her daughter relive her past. This is an excellent movie to continue the Scream franchise leaving fans to wonder if there’s a next.
I personally enjoyed the movie especially since it was my first scream movie from the franchise I saw. Some parts of the movie made me want to yell at the characters to just run. I didn’t like some parts when it got gruesome when a couple of the teenagers were getting killed. This was an overall 9/10 movie and recommend it to others who enjoy the franchise or if you are into slasher films.
