Students smashed the “10k in a day” goal with over 20k on Tuesday’s pre-Double Wolf Dare Week (DWDW event. Over the course of the day, various events raised money for the DWDW charity – Foster Care of Oklahoma (FCAO).

Each class had the opportunity to raise money which not only went toward DWDW but also allowed students an extra 15 minutes during lunch time. Juniors took the title raising over $600 dollars.

Throughout the day, DWDW Royalty groups blanketed the school with treats like the irresistible Oreo balls, spicy pretzels and puppy chow to raise money for FCAO.

At lunch, a variety of food trucks such as: Surf Bar, Texlahoma BBQ, Happy Camper, Wicked Hangry and Papa’s Tacos donated a portion of their sales to DWDW and FCAO.

Finally, an annual event: the Basketball Bash. Seniors and juniors went head to head in a basketball game. Students jumped at the chance to both raise money and get out of class for the assembly.Unfortunately for the seniors, a one point shot at the end of the game led to another surprising win for the juniors.

“Even though we lost, it was still pretty fun.” Senior Kristy Nguyen said. “I got absolutely decked by Lane Harper. The ref was terrible!” (It’s a joke Coach Lallemand).

After the school day ended, the fundraising did not. Roots Nutrition offered 50% of their sales and for dinner Cane’s donated a portion of their sales.

Wolves  proved once again that goals are merely a suggestion and a possible foreshadowing for the success of DWDW at the end of February.
