On Jan. 7, Santa Fe held a Unified basketball tournament against Piedmont.
Unified basketball is an inclusive sports program that allows students with disabilities to experience playing a sport.
Before the game started, announcer Drew Rosko called out the players from each team who would be participating.
A large number of people, including friends, family and classmates with a widespread interest, came to support our Unified basketball team.
The game began with Santa Fe scoring the first point, followed shortly by Piedmont, and later took the lead before the end of the first quarter.
Piedmont was in the lead in the second quarter, but by halftime, the teams were tied.
During halftime, a representative from the Oklahoma Special Olympics came to congratulate our school by awarding us a banner for qualifying for the National Special Olympics.
During the third quarter, the Wolves were behind in points, leading Piedmont to take the lead yet again before the quarter ended.
Finally, the last quarter ended with Piedmont winning. As the game ended, athletes from both teams shook hands.
