Santa Fe is once again happy to welcome a multitude of new teachers, including, Angel Cortez.

Cortez is beginning her teaching career at Santa Fe and is a freshman English teacher. Coming straight out of college at UCO, she is excited and ready for this new experience.

“My favorite thing about teaching is the funny stories and memories with my students,” Cortez said.

She dreamed of being a teacher and saw positive teaching influence in her own home.

“My step-mom is a teacher and she always inspired me,” Cortez said.

Outside of teaching she enjoys participating in the arts, such as painting, drawing, reading and writing. These interests reflect in her work and help her to strive when teaching students.

Cortez hopes to make a difference in the lives of her students this school year.
