The newest club to Edmond Santa Fe: The Black Student Union

In the past year, so many injustices have happened to people of color (POC) and young black voices all over America have been fighting to find someone to listen to what they have to say.

“Because of the BSU I feel like I can share that same story with others and many other people will hear me or say that they can relate because we have all been there,” David Dimandja, member of Black Student Union said. “I feel that voices are being heard and being black is not a trend anymore.¨

Santa Fe has decided to allow a place for these voices to be heard throughout its halls by creating a Black Student Union (BSU). The BSU’s purpose is to be a safe place where POC can come and talk about their experiences and realize that they’re not alone.

The BSU plans to have open discussions at their meetings where students can share their experiences and talk them through with students that they can relate to. Making sure no student feels alone is BSU’s main goal.

Santa Fe’s BSU encourages people of all colors and races to join the BSU to learn and understand students of different ethnicities and backgrounds.
