Santa Fe offers a variety of clubs to participate in. With its diverse selection, students throughout campus are able to connect and explore with shared interests.
Badminton Club
After a month of searching, the Santa Fe Badminton Club has found a new sponsor, Mr. Nickel, a freshman biology teacher. On Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. the club holds practices in the Santa Fe’s small gym. As the vice president, sophomore Henry Pham states that he usually manages the club officers and handles anything the club president isn’t able to do.
“The events we did in the past were friendly tournaments for the winter and summer, hopefully this year and in the near future, we can have a tournament each season,” Pham said.
Key Club
Key Club, an international student-led organization, provides its members with opportunities to participate and organize various activities for community service, such as volunteering at local food banks, cleaning up parks and raising money for charitable organizations. Members of this club develop and learn valuable skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication and problem-solving. Overall, this club presents an important opportunity to interact with different communities while making a positive impact.
Key Club has a positive effect on its members from various activities.
“Key Club is awesome because it provides tons of opportunities to give back to the community, and make a real difference through volunteering,” junior representative Thu Tran said.
Environmental Club
The Santa Fe Environmental Club is open and free for anybody that loves to learn about the environment and how to help take care of plants and animals. Meetings and events are usually held every Tuesday from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. at Washington Irving Elementary School. The majority of the time, members engage in helping elementary kids with their butterfly garden, weeding, planting flowers and digging holes for other plants.
“Later in the year we help paint rocks for them [Washington Irving students] to sell at their annual rock sale,” Environmental Club’s president Carson Culley said.
Chinese Club
