Santa Fe closes out the 2022 year Howdy Week with one last final “yee-haw.” On Friday Aug. 19, Edmond Santa Fe Student Council (STUCO) held a Line Dancing event in the small gym.

Upon arrival, students lined up to watch and learn while STUCO members taught the dances. Once the dances were learned, students were free to dance to the music. Songs from “Crank That” by Soulja Boy to “Cotton Eye Joe” by the RedNex had choreography created in a line dancing style.

“I think line dancing was a success,” said Sophomore and STUCO Historian Sharrin Jones. “It was really fun and everyone enjoyed the line dances,”

In between dances, popular country songs were played; this break time was intended to give students time to breathe and get water, which was for sale at the event.

“Even if it wasn’t some people’s cup of tea, I still think everyone enjoyed it,” Sharrin Jones said.

Line dancing put the feather in the cowboy hat for the Howdy Week recap. For information about future events, make sure to check out esfhs.stuco page to keep updated.
