Starting in December of 2021, the Lady Wolves geared up and began practicing for the upcoming season. Soon enough, the season rolled around, and the Santa Fe’s Lady Wolves varsity basketball team was prepared.

Leading into January, the girls record stood at four wins and two losses, leaving coaches and players happy but not satisfied. As the season continued and game days passed, the Lady Wolves record developed from four wins to its  now 10 wins, leaving the mere five losses behind. Overlooking the losses and focusing on the wins to come motivates the girls to continue working hard during practices.

“I personally practice from 2:15 p.m to 5:30 p.m.because I’m on the freshman and varsity team,” said freshman Peyton Best. “I think the practice schedule is good and I like how it is at the end of the day instead of in the morning.”

The freshman, varsity and junior varsity all have separate practice times and the time depends on the team or teams you are on.

“Basketball can be emotionally and physically draining but being on Santa Fe’s team makes it all worth it in the end,” Peyton said.
