On Thursday, Oct. 9, Santa Fe named Advanced Placement (AP) Literature teacher and yearbook sponsor, Stephanie Bray, as the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year.
Bray was greeted during fifth hour with the band playing outside and a crowd cheering her on. She was surprised by Principal Jason Hayes with the award, followed by the support of staff, students and her family.
This marks the third year Bray has been nominated for this award.
“Each year has been a roller coaster of emotions, but I’m always so honored to be recognized by my colleagues,” Bray said. “I love working with these people.”
Her school spirit and participation were what put her ahead of the game for this well-deserved win.
“This is my 14th year at Santa Fe,” Bray said. “I have taught, coached, sponsored and advised so many different students over these years, I am absolutely honored to represent the school that made me the teacher I am today. I’m really proud of the work I do and proud to be a wolf!”
As part of the Teacher of the Year process, each winner advances to the district-level competition. Candidates have to record a video entry to introduce themselves and talk about their teaching style.
“Edmond Public Schools has never chosen a Santa Fe teacher for district Teacher of the Year. I’m super competitive, and I would love to be the first,” Bray said. “I couldn’t imagine a better way to honor my time at Santa Fe and my colleagues for choosing me to represent them!”
The district winner will be announced in April. The Santa Fe Wolves will be rooting for Bray.
