2,500 Santa Fe students gathered at the stadium on Thursday, September 9 for the first assembly of the year ringing in the first Edlam game of the season, a match between the Santa Fe Wolves and the North Huskies.

During the assembly, students from all grade levels played games, chanted and cheered and watched the Wolves’ pom team perform. Despite the hot weather, the band performed and student, Joel Morton, sang the national anthem. This assembly marked the first assembly of many for freshmen at Santa Fe.

¨When the freshman, juniors, sophomores and seniors like went and competed against each other, that was funny,¨ freshman Addison Kramer said.

Class competitions are a favorite at assemblies. Between toilet paper wrapping, blended burgers, and an elusive Chick-Fil-A receipt this assembly’s “class comps” did not disappoint.

¨I thought it was fun and something new.¨ Freshman Emily Klinghamer said. ¨I enjoyed watching pom perform and the seniors, juniors sophomores and freshman compete.

Toward the end of the assembly, a special video produced by Santa Fe’s own broadcasting class, The Howl, pumped up the massive crowd. Finally, it was Santa Fe Head Football Coach, Kyle White, who encouraged student loyalty to the Wolves in a call and response chant.

¨We are Santa Fe.¨ Coach White said.

“We are Wolves!” thousands of students shouted.
