The Edmond Santa Fe Football Team continues its winning streak, beating North 52-17 and becoming City Champions. Santa Fe played a great game in all 4 quarters, showing the same level of consistency we have become used to seeing. They scored in every quarter and played a very high-level game overall.

Head Coach Kyle White feels great about being city champions once again.

“It’s good, it’s always good, always fun for the school and the community,” White said.

After last year’s season, Santa Fe has been trying hard to bounce back this year. Coach White and the entire football team have been bringing their all to establish Santa Fe as a dominant high school.

“Our coaches are getting them ready each week, our guys are staying hungry,” White said.

Our Wolves are showing their dedication to the game with great work on and off the field. Great practice is the key to Santa Fe’s recent success.

“This is the best we’ve practiced, the best we’ve trained.” Senior Jackson Herman said.

With so many great players on the Offensive Line (O-Line), Santa Fe has been scoring incredibly well this year. An 8-touchdown game against Memorial and a 7-touchdown game against North are evidence of the hard work put in by the Santa Fe team.

“We have a Champion season quality O-Line,” Herman said.

Defensively, the Wolves are playing great, allowing only 3 touchdowns in the last two games. The first win of this season can be attributed to Birgen Kaiser’s phenomenal block against the Jenks’ kick.

On both sides of the ball, the Wolves are playing very physical, which has helped Santa Fe in every game so far. Another focus of this year is camaraderie; Santa Fe has been a more cohesive team this season, moving and scoring as one.

“We are not a bunch of fragmented individuals,” Herman said, “we’re all trying to win together.”

Santa Fe’s current record is 4-1 going after beating Mustang last Friday. Coming off of last season, the Wolves are giving their all this season to show how powerful our team is.

“One of the many receipts we have to hand out,” Herman said. “We have a lot of revenge from last season.”

This Friday The Wolves will play against Norman at Norman. With the Wolves coming off a win, they are looking very strong against Norman, who has a 2-4 record.

Tickets are $8 and the game will also be streamed at krefsports.tv.
