The students of Santa Fe High School filled the gym in anticipation of this year’s talent show. All proceeds raised benefit this year’s recipient FCAO. Santa Fe’s got talent featured acts ranging from guitar solos to dunk contests.
Randy Carlton opened up the assembly by singing a crowd favorite, I Want It That Way by the Backstreet boys. Kiana Stewart stunned the audience with a self choreographed dance to Whip My Hair Back and Forth by Willow Smith.
“I made the dance up on the spot,” Kiana admitted. “I was nervous alright but when everybody started cheering it made my nerves go away.”
The audience was gifted with a serenade from seniors Christian Hammons and Zayden Best before more dancing ensued. To wrap up the talent show, Lily Hutsell and her band rocked the gym with Black Sheep by Metric and Junior Daniel Weingart honored the late Toby Keith by singing Should’ve Been a Cowboy.
“My favorite talent show performance was the Toby Keith song,” Junior Ryder Ellis said. “That’s one of my favorite songs and his voice was surprisingly good.”
It’s safe to say that day three of Double Wolf Dare Week was a success.
