From Feb. 2 to 7, students at Santa Fe united to raise money for Double Dare Wolf Week (DWDW) recipient K Club.
Throughout the week, all grades competed against each other by donating cash to their English teachers; the grade with the most money won an extra 15 minutes of lunch.
On Friday, Feb 7, Santa Fe celebrated their annual pre-DWDW fundraising day with this year aiming to raise 15k through selling snacks, drinks and raffles for events or prizes. Seniors and Student Council (STUCO) members Sara Hassan and Finley Brooke were in charge of its organization.

“It was such a meaningful experience for me,” Hassan said. “This event wasn’t just about raising money to kick off DWDW, but also reminding people it is all about giving back to our community.”
Throughout the day, many students participated in “Dare to Be Kind” challenges on their Instagram stories; DWDW’s Instagram page reposted students’ photos displaying acts of kindness, such as writing notes for teachers or buying snacks for friends.
Scooters sold donuts, coffee and energy drinks in the auditorium foyer. Their best seller was the “Caramelicious,” a caramel frappuccino with whipped cream and caramel drizzle on top.
“It was delicioso” junior Ruth Maduro said.

During both lunches, food trucks served a variety of food including pizza, birria tacos, surf bar, burgers and boba, and in the halls, Royalty groups sold treats such as Valegrams, oreo balls, puppy chow, spicy pretzels and Alani energy drinks, donating their sales for the cause.
“I was excited to raise 15k in a day because it brings everyones together,” junior Maddy McMillin said. “All royalty groups get up early to sell in the morning and work hard to sell during the day.”

In 6th hour, juniors and seniors battled each other in the annual Basketball Bash. Twenty juniors and 20 seniors volunteered to play and other students paid $5 to spectate.
“It’s pretty fun to play against friends in a charity game,” junior player Benjamin Stevenson said.
The seniors scored first and continued to lead the entire game. In the end, the seniors won 33-22, securing their victory two years in a row.
“I enjoyed winning back to back years,” senior player Maxton Barker said.
By 5 p.m. Seniors won class competition with $1,318.58, securing their extra lunchtime. Overall, Santa Fe smashed the goal by reaching $32,104.83, displaying Santa Fe’s united spirit and generosity.
