Powderpuff, one of the most anticipated fall events, brought a different outcome compared to previous years. Seniors, who typically secure the win, faced a loss.
On Friday, Sept. 20, the morning semi-finals crowd watched as the seniors won 8-6, and the sophomores won 18-4. In the evening championship game, sophomores beat the seniors with a final score of 22-6.
With this turn of events, seniors felt a mix of emotions during this year’s game.
“My experience with Powderpuff was really good,” Madi Battiest said. “The loss was super disappointing because we all wanted to win but both us and the sophomores played really well and it was a competitive game.”
With this year’s victory, the sophomores are crowned Powderpuff champions. Time will tell if they can defend their title next year.
