Santa Fe’s first home game was against Norman North on Friday, Sept. 8. It was a close match and an exciting opener to our home season.
Santa Fe started the game strong with three touchdowns, two of which earned an extra point. Norman North scored one touchdown with no extra point. The score was 21-6 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter was much slower with only one touchdown by Norman North. Norman North also successfully scored a 2-point conversion. It was 21-14 at the end of the second quarter.
Following the second quarter, the Edmond Santa Fe Marching Band performed this year’s show “Project X.”
In the third quarter, both teams scored a touchdown and had a touchdown rescinded. Both teams got an extra point. The score was 28-21 at the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter is where Norman North. Norman North scored a touchdown with an extra point early into the quarter. With three minutes on the clock, the score was tied 28-28. Then just moments before entering overtime, Norman North scored a field goal for 3 points, leaving the final score at 28-31 with a Norman North victory.
The first two games of Santa Fe’s season leave them 1-1, with an impressive victory over Jenks in our season opener. Santa Fe played a good game with great work from every part of the team.
