Santa Fe’s Student Council (STUCO) hosted its second annual Homecoming (HOCO) festival, an event that brought students and clubs together for a celebration.
For many students and staff, it was their first time attending the event, as it was only the second HOCO fest.
“It was so much fun. I met up with so many of my friends,” freshman Onima Haque said. “My favorite food was the tacos from Psycho Taco.”
STUCO followed a specific process to bring food trucks to the festival. By dividing the tasks into call assignments, multiple businesses were invited to the event.
“It was a little scary to call but I just planned out what I was going to say and it went fine,” freshman STUCO Member Cailyn Tu said.
A variety of food trucks were featured including Scooters, Surf Bar and The Pizza Spot. Scooters came out for the whole day selling coffee and donuts, with all profits going to Double Wolf Dare Week.
Several clubs also participated, running booths and organizing activities. Some clubs served food from their cultures, while others offered games, such as Key Club’s dart balloon game. Francis Tuttle came out and had a booth with free hair tinsel, nail painting and face paint. This booth drew long lines throughout the event.
“I was so excited to help represent Desi Club and Key Club at HOCO fest,” senior Key Club member Tashfia Altaf said. “It was a fun experience being able to interact with everyone and I’m so glad I was able to be a part of it.”
Towards the end of the festival, Homecoming court was introduced by STUCO sponsor, Mr. Rosko. The cheer and pom squads closed the event with a performance of the school fight song.
