Santa Fe’s girls volleyball team continues their season by securing their first home game win on Aug. 29.
The team seized the win against the Stillwater Pioneers after winning three consecutive sets.
Students donned their USA-themed outfits in support of the team. “I love to show up and show out for Santa Fe,” junior Student Council (STUCO) member Alanda Pollard said.
Players attributed their success to their mutual support and connections on the court.
“It was nerve-wracking. We weren’t in the positions that we normally play, but with our connection, we came out on top,” junior setter and defensive specialist Ava Crawford said.“We were really playing for each other and cheering each other on.”
Both varsity and JV won their matches and the student section celebrated the victory with cupcakes and chants.
“We swept them,” senior STUCO member and Wolf Pack leader Ian Jenkins said. “I knew we would win.”
