Santa Fe wrapped up Howdy Week with their annual line dancing night on Aug. 23.
To kick off the night, the song “Die With a Smile,” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars played as students filtered into the small gym.
Student Council (STUCO) wasn’t concerned about the number of people that would show up.
“There will be more people,” said sophomore and STUCO member Michael Swartz.
He was right; soon, the small gym was almost packed with students from every grade.
During the event, STUCO members demonstrated dances on a stage set up in front of the crowd. Between every couple songs, students were offered water and a break.
Songs like “Timber” by Kesha, “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins, “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and “Baby” by Justin Bieber, played as the night carried on.
Even though 8 o’clock was closing in, the students were still having a blast.
“Sometimes you just have to live the moment,” freshman Nicole Crasada said.
To end the night, “No Hands,” by Roscoe Dash and Waka Flocka Flame, played. Although the event was simply music and dancing, it was definitely a great way to end Howdy Week at the Fe.
