To celebrate homecoming, Santa Fe girls played a rigorous game of Powderpuff football, an annual event hosted at the stadium on Oct. 5.

As a homecoming tradition, seniors and sophomores took on the juniors and freshman for the game. Within the first five minutes of the game, the seniors and sophomores scored a touchdown. This turned a casual flag football game into a fierce competition.

“I loved playing,” said Sophomore Kendal Loran. “It was fun, but I think we have a lot to work on.”

Tensions were high after the first half of the game. The boys who volunteered to cheer chanted on the sidelines with the famous green and gray cheer as the clock continued to tick down. The coaches, boys who play for the football team, called plays from the sidelines as the final seconds trickled down. The seniors and sophomores took the win with a score of 12-0.

“Everyone played so well,” said senior Ainsley Williams. “Especially Ivy Brennan. She’s a senior and definitely helped us win.”
