The “Friend Asks” App

Santa Fe students are encouraged to download a new app called “A Friend Asks.” The app is designed to help teenagers who aren’t sure what to do when their friends mention something concerning their mental health.

The app is free and was developed by The Jason Foundation to help students in the “silence epidemic” over youth suicide and how people can combat the problem and reach out.

“It is an app that we want all students to download and have on their phone,” said Santa Fe’s principal Mr. Hayes. “It directs students on what to say, what not to say, who to tell, etc.”

The “Ask a Friend” app website is available to all students in their student email, providing further details about the app. If you have any questions, feel free to email Mr. Hayes or your Santa Fe counselor.
