Since spring has sprung, many teenagers begin questioning their outfit choices for the season. Students at Santa Fe are waiting to see the latest trends come to light. 2025 Spring fashion shows a wide variety of bright colors, vintage and Y2K styles and eco-friendly choices, reflecting the diverse tastes of gen z.
One of the most notable trends this spring is the revival of Y2K fashion, which began its comeback at the end of summer 2024. Teenagers are gravitating toward baggy denim jeans, crop tops, low rise jeans and oversized jackets and outlandish belts. They also enjoy wearing baggy pants that are “rock washed” to give them a unique coloring. Vintage styles are also making a comeback, with old-school prints and band shirts.
“[I prefer] low rise over high rise [jeans] because they just look better,” said sophomore Ellie Stiglets.
The most important trends for every day will most likely be stand-out belts, color matching of different shades, layered necklaces, crossbody bags, bucket hats, pocket chains, chunky sneakers (D.C. or Timberland Boots) and other accessories that add detail to an outfit.
Eco-friendly garments are another main focus for spring. Lots of people are starting to shop at stores like Goodwill, Salvation Army and other thrift stores for more variety. This change allows teens to show their identity but also matches with their own values concerning climate change.
“Sustainability is super important to me when I go thrifting for clothing,” freshman Isaiah Kressly said. “It helps me show other people that you can get name brands without the insane price tags and that you don’t have to buy it brand new for similar if not the same quality.”
Expect to see these styles on the streets soon.
