The highly anticipated Versus assembly took place on Wednesday; this assembly consisted of games including “What’s in the Box,” relay race, a class sing-off, a teacher v. student dodgeball and table surfing.
Student Council (STUCO) kicked off the assembly with “What’s in the Box,” with two seniors v. a freshman and a sophomore. While blindfolded, they had to identify wet dog food, a stuffed animal and then a STUCO member’s hand.
Following that, there was the iconic relay race. All classes raced across the gym floor and back. They had to pop a balloon, put on multiple shirts and race a teammate on a scooter to the other side of the gym and back. It was close, but the seniors and sophomores won in the end.
“I had so much fun competing in the class comp, I am a little disappointed we lost though,” freshman Nora Morrison said.
Next up was teachers v. students dodgeball. Both teams put up a good fight but the teachers ultimately won.
“The students were a tough opponent but the teachers will forever win,” English teacher Mr. Quinton said.
STUCO introduced a new class comp: a sing-off in which they played a well-known song for each grade to see who could sing the loudest. They started with the sophomores singing “You Belong WIth Me” by Taylor Swift and the juniors singing “Love” by Keisha Cole.
In between the sing-offs, there was table surfing, which is a crowd favorite. The seniors won, once again.
To conclude the assembly, the freshman sang “Baby” by Justin Bieber and the seniors closed with “Part in the USA.”
