On Monday night, Santa Fe kicked off Double Wolf Dare Week (DWDW) night events with their annual Blacklight dance from 6-8pm in the big gym.
“It was the perfect way to start the week,” senior and Student Council (STUCO) member Lexi Parker said.
Students lit up the dark gym with their white and neon outfits and danced to rap and line dancing music.
For many, the highlight of the night was when Santa Fe’s Band drumline put on a show around the crowd, infusing the night with energy.
“It was fun that they came and played around us,” junior Allida Paulsen said.
To collect funds for DWDW’s cause, Royalty groups sold traditional snacks like oreo balls, spicy pretzels, cake pops and drinks.
“I was able to dance and laugh while supporting the K club,” STUCO’s member Jewel Lynne said. “I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my night anywhere else.”

For some seniors, this night rekindled memories from previous years.
“I have been going since my freshman year, so going for my senior year was really special,” senior Jade Sossa said. “It is so hype because it is a dance between HOCO and prom.”
Sossa and her friend Lilly Hoffman attended the last four blacklight dances, and this year shared on their instagram their last selfie in the blacklight.
