Friends, family and peers gathered in the large cafeteria on Feb. 5 to watch 11 Santa Fe student-athletes participate in a college signing day. When their designated time arrived, each student sat at a table in the front of the room, accompanied by their family members, and finalized their college decisions.
Jace Bandy, who has played baseball for 16 years, will continue his career at Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
“The main thing I am looking forward to is being able to play the game longer,” Bandy said. “Getting to play baseball after high school isn’t something that most kids get to do and I feel blessed to achieve that.”
Devin Howard will extend his football career at Southern Nazarene University.
“I am most excited for new opportunities,” Howard said.
Aaron Shipp, a pitcher, first baseman and outfielder, has played baseball for ten years and will continue at Wiley University.
“I am looking forward to meeting new teammates and working hard to get better everyday,” Shipp said.
Carson Brumbaugh will continue his 15 year baseball career at the University of Arkansas.
“I am looking forward to playing on a bigger stage with the same intentions, win,” Brumbaugh said. “I am also looking forward to learning from new people and meeting new teammates.”
