Winter weather has arrived- with it comes seasonal fashion trends. As the seasons change, so do popular trendy styles.

Winter warmth – Everyone needs a thick coat for those snowy days; North Face is an easily recognizable brand that appears every cold season. With styles ranging from a North Face Aconcagua Vest to the North Face Arctic Parka, a puffer is a necessity for keeping you warm. Though North face is a more expensive brand, different stores like Hollister, American Eagle and Target offer cheaper alternatives. 

Cardigan catch – Cardigans have made their way back into the fashion cycle. On the warmer days of winter, you can find people wearing a simple cardigan over a tank top or long sleeve. There are many ways to style a classic cute cardigan, but buttoning the top button and leaving the rest undone seems to be the trend.

The perfect pair – Low-rise baggy jeans are being seen more commonly during the colder months. Many brands are appearing in the mix, including: Edikted, Motel Rocks and Pacsun, along with less popular stores as well. Additionally, Jncos, a brand that originally gained popularity in the 90’s, has started to garner attention again. 

Fleece frenzy –  Leggings are a basic outfit component, but they can be too thin during winter. To prevent this, multiple companies have released lined leggings designed to help endure the cold. They come in many colors, including skin tone, making it accessible to wear shorts or a skirt during winter while staying warm. Leggings can also serve an additional layer of warmth underneath a pair of sweatpants or jeans. 

Layering light – Switching from warm weather apparel to winter clothes can be costly. One way to lower expenses is by styling a long sleeve underneath your favorite t-shirt. You can even coordinate the colors of the long sleeve to match your t-shirt, or stick with a basic long sleeve. 

Hoodie season – Hoodies are known to bring warmth and comfort during the colder months. Hoodies can go with sweatpants as a matching set or can be easily styled with shorts, leggings or jeans. New styles of hoodies are coming in including the new UGG Tasman hoodies, matching the signature Tasman threaded design on the shoes.

Keeping up with trends can be difficult as there is always a new piece of clothing becoming popular. Wearing what you desire is important. Trends are optional and fashion is an opinionated topic.
