Santa Fe’s boys and girls basketball team brought the community together with an event to kickoff the season.
“Wolf Madness” started with the introduction of the team members and head coaches, boys head coach Lallemand and girls head coach Axton. Following introductions, the freshman girls began scrimaging. Games were played in 10-minute increments, alternating from girls to boys.
“Wolf Madness was a great preview for the season,” freshman head coach Wilkerson said. “I’m excited to see how the team grows together and what all they achieve”
In between each scrimmage crowd members were offered a chance to win a $25 gift card from Soda Lab. Zoe Factor won the gift card by making two free throws.
At the entrance of the gym, $5 raffle tickets were available for purchase. Some of the prizes on display included a spa day basket, a backpack full of supplies, a boys and girls signed basketball and more. The raffle tickets cost an additional $5 to get a chance to win.
After the last scrimmage, coaches and players thanked the crowd for attending the event.
“Both teams showed great teamwork, but had fun in the process,” coach Naff said. “The event was definitely a success.”
