Camryn Paul, a junior at Santa Fe, and her family created the Carsyn Neille Foundation in 2016. According to the Carsyn Neille Foundation website, their mission is to inspire, educate and empower families, offering wellness solutions and promoting sustainable, non-toxic living environments.
“My family’s organization is the Carsyn Neille Foundation and it started because I lost my sister to cancer, and my mom wanted to help the community but did not know how at first,” Paul said. “My mom is really good at interior designing so she had the idea to create non-toxic bedrooms for kids with cancer because that is where they spend most of their time.”
The foundation has collaborated with many organizations to provide rooms to thrive, comfort kit hospital deliveries and whole-home wellness coaching.
“My mom is the founder and has a team of people from different professions, a lot of her board members are stationed in California,” Paul said.
They collaborate with DavisMade LLC to provide “Rooms to Thrive,” an in-person or electronic-design service where they guide families in creating a sustainable, non-toxic space that contributes to a child’s quality of life.
Comfort kit hospital deliveries consist of essential items specifically made for children affected by cancer. The kids reduce exposure to harmful chemicals in the environments where children spend most of their time.
The Carsyn Neille Foundation cites Roger Ulrich from The Journal of Science, who says “Research shows that our space contributes to more than 30% of any cure. Our interior space triggers the brain’s healing process.” This is why they believe their work is so important.
Along with reducing exposure, the last thing they provide is whole-home wellness coaching. Wellness coaches supply hands-on experience with proven real-world solutions for identifying, assessing and eliminating pollutants and airborne toxins in families’ homes. They provide fifteen personal product swaps and detox protocols, which are new clean products the family will be able to use to make homes safer for everyone.
