Fashion trends go through a cycle as seasons pass. New trends are thrown into the mix and when a specific trend comes with variations, it tends to stay in the cycle. This year we have trends returning and new trends coming in.
UGG or ugh – With various styles ranging from the Tall Boot to the Classic Ultra Minis, UGG has always been in the fashion cycle. Last season, the Tasman slippers took the fashion world by storm. This year, UGG decided to re-launch their Lowmel Sneakers. The sneakers are comfortable and have the ability to tie any outfit together. Both are qualities people want for a staple shoe. Many people dislike UGGs because they get dirty easily; UGGs can make you look messy or lazy because they are “house shoes”.
Leopard Luxe – Animal print is a trend that is returning from the early 2000’s. Leopard print and cheetah print blew up on social media with the “glamour” Tik Tok trend. In this trend, people show something animal print, typically clothes or accessories with the song “Glamour” by Uniqe playing.
Sweater weather – When you think of fall, a sweater likely comes to mind. Whether it’s a crochet cardigan or a knit sweater, it’s a fashion trend that will always circulate back around. No matter the size, color, design or pattern, sweaters are a basic everyone needs.
Sambas, hate it or love it? – Sambas made their first appearance on shelves in 1949 as a soccer shoe. They quickly became popular for their affordable price. Sambas have died down until fall of last year when they became a common shoe again. Since then, the shoes have grown even more in popularity.
Golden days – There is a rage about having gold jewelry on to complete an outfit.. Gold jewelry can help those who wear it express themselves more through their outfits; jewelry choices are up to you. Bold pieces separate you from the crowd while also keeping you in the trends.
American high street (AHS) style – Each year brings a new signature style, and 2023’s was preppy. This year’s style, American high street, is an updated version of 80’s streetwear. Outfits in the style typically include jean shorts, tight shirts, sambas and jewelry. AHS is often associated with jerseys, which remain popular in everyday outfits
Some trends aren’t for everyone. Finding articles of clothing that you love is what fashion is about. All that matters is that you enjoy what you wear.
