Girl scout cookie season is back!

Amira Newsom, Howler Staff Writer

It’s the time of the year, Girl Scout cookie season is back! In 1917, five years after Juliette Gordon Low started Girl Scouts in the United States, they have sold cookies from the end of January to early April to help pay for their camps and adventures.

“The older kids do it to pay for their awards like the gold award that I’m working on,” said junior and Girl Scout Maddie Sutherland, “I’d recommend buying your cookies sooner than later because they sell out fast.”

Most cookies are $5 but the Toffee Tastic; a gluten free cookie, and Smores are $6. The new flavor in 2022 is Adventureful, a brownie type cookie with caramel on top.

My personal favorite cookies are Tagalogs. A peanut butter and vanilla shortbread covered with a layer of chocolate: my favorite combination of flavors.

Adventurefuls, Lemon-ups, Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos, Samoas, Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Smores, and Toffee Tastic are the many flavors to choose from!
